Biography
I am very passionate about the possibilities for transformation through bodywork. I have been a practitioner for over 13 years - initially massage, then shiatsu and now cranial and chiropractic. My shiatsu training lasted 3 years and gave me a very strong background in Japanese and Chinese understandings of energy medicine. I went on to study chiropractic and a more detailed understanding of western anatomy and physiology over 4 1/2 years at the University of Westminster and then the McTimoney College of Chiropractic.
However the most powerful bodywork paradigm I have found is biodynamic craniosacral therapy. Is is a very beautiful and profound way of working. Biodynamic craniosacral work is an opening of perceptual abilities to a direct experience of health as a living, breathing, experiential process. By deepening our relationship to our bodies and our environment we can support our inherent intelligence and its continual seeking for stillness and balance.
My background includes 8 years working with people with mental health problems, 13 years of various styles of yoga and 10 years or varying meditation practice. I endlessly comeback to Zen and Taoist thought as ways of making sense of my experiences. I have a degree in mechanical engineering. I currently live in Geneva which allows me to do some great skiing and spend lots of time in the mountains.
